From Series to Book

From Series to Book

Reflections for Sabi Sunday Press on reading, writing, and the art of making books.

Some books do not begin as manuscripts. They begin as a body of work developed over time through consistent writing, reflection, and purpose.

One of our projects began as a series of weekly essays written by Sharon Meyers during a twelve-week stay in Kyoto. These essays became the foundation for her book, White Tiger Tales: Living & Learning in Kyoto.

A second season of travel and writing followed, this time pairing each essay with a haiku. First shared weekly through Vita Inscribed, the work gradually revealed its cohesion and direction.

From there, the focus turned to forming the collection by selecting what belonged, the creative design, and refining the work while preserving its voice.

The result is her soon-to-be-published second volume, White Tiger Tales, Volume II: Timeless Traditions of Kyoto.

This is often how we guide authors: helping them turn their vision for their work into a finished, beautifully made book.

If you have a body of writing, a collection of reflections, or the beginnings of a manuscript, it may already be closer to becoming a book than you realize.

At Sabi Sunday Press, we publish books made through attention, patience, and care.
